Glad you made it here.
Now let’s make B2B a little less boring, and a lot more effective, shall we?
If you’re looking for a freelance B2B copywriter who:
- actually gets your tech/product/service
- asks good (sometimes annoying) questions
- and writes like a human (not a brochure generator)
then we should talk.
Email works best: kristof/at/maddelein.com

Suggest a few time slots and I’ll call you like it’s 1999. Not allergic to Teams meetings either. Bonus points if your briefing doesn’t start with ‘We just need some quick copy…’
Based in Belgium. Working everywhere.
Travel-friendly. Coffee always negotiable.
The B2B copywriter FAQ
Everything you were going to email me anyway.
Depends on the scope. Most projects run on a fixed price, for example for a messaging engagement or a campaign, you get a set price upfront, no surprises later. For longer collaborations (extended team member, coaching), I work on a monthly retainer.
We start with a 30-minute call, not a pitch, just figuring out if there’s a fit and what you actually need. If it clicks, you get a proposal with scope, timing, and price. Then I dig into your product, market, and customers before I write a single line.
Depends on what you need. A well-defined project (a landing page, a messaging engagement) is fixed price. Need someone on an ongoing basis as an extra pair of hands next to your marketing team or for continuous content, that’s a retainer. I don’t do hourly billing: it rewards being slow, not getting results.
B2B and tech companies, from scale-ups to established players, who have something worth saying but haven’t sharpened it yet. I work best with teams who know their product and customers inside out and are willing to think things through together, not with people who just want copy “written,” full stop, without giving input.
If you’re looking for the cheapest freelancer around, or someone who executes word-for-word without thinking about positioning, I’m not your guy. I ask a lot of questions. If that doesn’t match how you want to work, you’ll find a better fit elsewhere.
My focus is B2B and technology, because I’ve done that for 20+ years and know the complexity that comes with it. If you think you are worth the exception, let’s have a chat.
Access to the people who know your product and customers best. Half an hour with your sales or customer success team is often worth more than a hundred pages of brand guidelines. Beyond that: any existing content, positioning docs, or research you already have, and one point of contact on your end to make decisions.
I’m based in Belgium, but most of my clients are spread across Europe, Asia, and North America, so remote is the default and works fine. If you’re nearby and an on-site session would genuinely help, that’s possible too.
Short version: messaging & copy is the foundation: what makes you different, and why a customer should care. Content strategy turns that into a plan, grounded in real personas and search intent, not guesswork. Campaigns is the execution: a landing page, emails, and ads that all say the same thing, on a deadline. Not sure which one you need? Start with the call. We’ll figure that out together.
Absolutely. A lot of my work looks exactly like that: I join an existing team for a strategic project, or temporarily take content off someone’s plate so their team can focus elsewhere.
Not as a standalone service, no. I’m not a translation agency. What I do is write B2B content and copy in both English and Dutch, and if I’m the one who wrote the original, I’m happy to adapt it into the other language too. So if you need a full translation service across multiple languages, that’s not me. But if your English site copy also needs a solid Dutch version (or vice versa), I can take care of that as part of the writing.
How can I help?
